DBE TELLS COURT ALL BOOKS NOW DELIVERED IN LIMPOPO

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has today filed an affidavit with the North Gauteng High Court in which it states that it has delivered all outstanding CAPS textbooks in Limpopo. A copy of the affidavit is attached below

Civil society calls Hawks spokesperson, Mcintosh Polela, to retract statement, “I trust that JubJub's supporters gave him a jar of Vaseline to take to prison.”

The Detention Justice Forum, a civil society coalition that seeks to protect the human rights of those that are detained, calls for Macintosh Polela, spokesperson for the Hawks, to publically retract his statement made over Twitter on the news of JubJub’s sentencing: “I trust that JubJub’s supporters gave him a jar of Vaseline to take to prison.”

COMMENT: SECTION27 WELCOMES THE LAUNCH OF THE INTEGRATED SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAMME

SECTION27 welcomes the Integrated School Health Programme (ISHP), which was launched on 11 October 2012 and congratulates the Minister of Health as the ISHP has been identified as one of the components on NHI. An effective ISHP is also a vital intervention to prevent illness in children and improve educational outcomes.
