The Health Market Inquiry has published its revised timetable. The inquiry will now be finalised in December 2017.
There will be another round of public hearings in May – June 2017, however, the subject of those hearings is yet to be determined.
There are several opportunities to make written submissions, including in respect of a Prescribed Minimum Benefits Analysis report; profitability analyses of funders and private facilities in March 2017 and the provisional report in September 2017.
The provisional report will be published on 1 September 2017 and the final report by 15 December 2017.
There are currently two documents out for public comment. The Market Definition for Financing of Healthcare and the HMI Description Statistics on Medical Schemes Data. Comment closes on 19 and 21 December respectively.
