I started working here 14 January 2019.

I am a Finance Officer and my main duties include (but are not limited to) budget management of SRHR grants, financial reporting, ensuring compliance with funders’ requirements.

I stick around because I enjoy what I do. I wake up, eat, sleep & dream of Excel spreadsheets and numbers. Nothing fulfils me more like coming up with new things (templates & formulae) that makes my work and those of my colleagues easier. I also get courage from understanding the achievements +Section 27 has obtained, knowing that I am contributing towards reaching our organisation’s objectives and positively impacting lives, through law, of “powerless” people out there.

I have a National Diploma in Accounting (DUT) and BCompt Degree (UNISA). I finished my SAICA articles at Ash, Hellberg & van Rooyen Chartered Accountants in Pietermaritzburg in 2010. I worked as an Audit Supervisor for a year thereafter, worked at SA Medical Research Council (MRC) as Grant’s Accountant from 2011 to mid-2016 managing various over-seas donors’ grants, worked as an Accountant at The Valley Trust from mid-2016 to December 2018 managing the whole organisation’s finances.
