Jonathan West

Candidate Attorney

Jonathan joined SECTION27 as a Candidate Attorney in January 2025.

He studied at Wits University, where he obtained a Bcom LLB (Dean’s List). He is currently completing his MCom Inequality through the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies.

Jonathan first joined SECTION27 as an intern from the Auwal Socioeconomic Research Institute (ASRI) Future Leaders Programme. While at ASRI, he was project lead for their advocacy and policy initiative. He has also experienced in international public health working in Operations for IRD Global.

His main interests are climate justice and building resilient communities. He is passionate about starting change from within and addressing state failures without anarchy.
