Khanyisa Mapipa
Head of Health Rights Programme
Khanyisa Mapipa, who joined the health rights programme as an attorney, holds a BCom(Law) degree and an LLB degree from Rhodes University.
Khanyisa is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a Mandela Washington Fellow.
She began her career as a Commercial Litigation Attorney. Inspired by her extra-mural pro bono work, she made a career shift into Human Rights and left the corporate space for a position at the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC). Khanyisa believes that the Constitution is the bedrock of South Africa and a transformative instrument which must be used for the advancement of human rights.
