The Fourth South African TB Conference will be held at the International Convention Centre in Durban from Tuesday 10 June 2014 to Friday 13 June 2014. SECTION27 will be co-hosting two events. Members of the public in and around Durban at the time are invited. The details are as follows:
PRE-SA TB CONFERENCE MEETING: ARE WE LOSING THE TB BATTLE?
DATE: TUESDAY, JUNE 10
TIME: 10h00-13h00
WHERE: Albany Hotel, 225 Anton Lembede St, Durban 4001 Lunch will be served.
You are invited to join civil society organisations, the Treatment Action Campaign, SECTION27 and Doctors Without Borders as we interrogate the country’s response to the TB epidemic. The goal of the meeting is to share information on TB issues and to reach consensus on key, strategic interventions that civil society must advocate for. Please see the attached Preliminary Activist Meeting Agenda.
There will be an opportunity to receive updates on decentralisation, access to better treatment regimens, drug stock outs, the “Fix the Patent Laws” campaign, and the role of legal interventions in bringing about change. We are also planning a number of actions and campaigns during the conference and would like to share these details with partners and discuss issues important to partners.
