The year 2023 marks the 30th anniversary of SECTION27, incorporating the AIDS Law Project (ALP), established in 1993. We commemorate three decades of impactful work for social justice and human rights. The AIDS Law Project was established to use the law to address the human rights implications of HIV/AIDS, which included fighting HIV discrimination. SECTION27 emerged from ALP in 2010 and broadened its focus to encompass the right to access quality health care services and the right to basic education.
