Professor Ashraf Hassen Coovadia is an accomplished Adjunct Professor with a strong medical background including MBChB, DCH (CMSA), Dip HIV Man (CMSA), FCP (Paed CMSA).
Serving as Academic Head of Department in the Dept of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of the Witwatersrand since October 2016 and as Head of Department at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital, Johannesburg, from January 2014. He completed training at University of Zambia and University of the Witwatersrand.
Coovadia’s current interests encompass medical education, pediatric emergency medicine training, and public healthcare system advocacy.
