SECTION27 with the Fix the Patent Laws Campaign will march with over a 1 000 activists to the office of the Department of Trade and Industry (dti) to hand over the coalition’s submission on the draft Intellectual Property Policy (phase 1) published for comment by the dti in August

Our Week Ahead 16 – 20 October

Life Esidimeni Arbitration continues and Issue 3 of Spotlight will go live this week. The focus is on the latest National Strategic Plan and also includes profiles on two Health MECs, the new CEO of the SA National AIDS Council as well as the important work being done by the Treatment Action Campaign in seven provinces.

Our Week Ahead 9 – 13 October

Monday sees the commencement of the arbitration proceedings for the Life Esidimeni tragedy led by retired Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke and designed to provide information, redress and closure to the affected mental health care users and their families. SECTION27 is representing 53 families.

Week Ahead 4 September – 8 September

Over the past weekend Basic Education for All (BEFA) held its electoral conference in Tzaneen Limpopo. BEFA activists from across the province came together to talk about the issues facing the Limpopo education system, as well as make strategic plans about how BEFA can overcome these challenges to bring about much needed change.
