TAC will call on ETV to stop airing their adverts in current form

Join the TAC press conference at 1pm Thursday 3 February, 3rd Floor 122 Longmarket Street, Cape Town.

Christ Embassy is a charismatic church run by the Pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, who claims to faith-heal a whole range of diseases including heart-disease, cancer and AIDS.

Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) lodged a complaint against Christ Embassy with the Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa (ASASA) in November 2009. On 2 February 2011, after they appealed the original flawed ASASA ruling, they have now finally received a ruling. The ASA has found that the Christ Embassy programmes run at 7:30am on ETV on Sunday mornings are indeed adverts that made unsubstantiated claims and must be withdrawn.
