Health Committees, made up of different people, are there to ensure that their own communities receive good, quality health care services, and they serve as a direct link between communities and health facilities. This video, by the University of Cape Town, explores the role of Health Committees from different perspectives – from that of a facility manager, a health care provider, health committee members and patients. This captures many of the challenges and opportunities for Health Committees as vehicles for community participation.
